Please note: I build programs each year to specifically meet schools, districts and individuals where they are. The details below are a framework to give you some ideas that have been successful for others...

YEAR ZERO: introductions

Let's get to know each other and how good of a fit we are for each other. This is a great time to try out some of the short term programs and in general focus on getting to know each others and you/your school's needs.

YEAR ONE: foundations

KEY FOCUS
  • Experience
Our first year together is all about simply experiencing the work with an open mind and a willingness to do something new and different. Mindfulness is a mindset, it takes years to cultivate, so as challenging as it might be, the goal for the first year is to just try things out for size and get more comfortable with me and the work. We focus on introducing and gaining comfort with the practices, both in class and at home.  At the end of the first year both educators and students feel a greater comfort with and thus commitment to the work, giving us and opportunity to continue to grow and build together.

ELEMENTS INCLUDE
  • In-Class Mindfulness Modeling
  • Monthly Guided Practices
  • Workbook with Monthly "Homework"
  • Monthly Group PLC
  • Weekly Group Practices
  • 8-Week Educator Intensives as additional options for those not participating
  • 8-Week Classroom Intensives as additional options for those not participating

YEAR TWO: immersion

KEY FOCUSES
  • Exposure
  • Immersion
  • Supported Application
  • Engagement & Experimentation
  • Idea Generation
Year two is all about diving deep into both the principles and practices of mindfulness. Educators are committing to the understanding that their ability to support their students is directly related to their ability to support themselves. Each month we cover a specific topic as it relates to mindfulness in two realms: personally and in class. We build upon our personal practices as well as working towards creating and implementing practices in class that meet the students where they are.

ELEMENTS INCLUDE
  • Monthly Education Modules for both Personal and In Class
  • In-Class Mindfulness Modeling
  • In-Class Observation
  • Monthly Guided Practices
  • Workbook with Monthly "Homework"
  • Monthly Group PLC
  • Weekly Group Practices
  • 1:1 coaching & support check-ins
  • 8-Week Educator Intensives as additional options for those not participating
  • 8-Week Classroom Intensives as additional options for those not participating

YEAR THREE: independence

KEY FOCUSES
  • Independent Application
  • Competency
  • Accountability
  • Longevity
Year three is all about supporting educators in seeing through the work that they have built up for the past two years and create more independence for themselves and with their students. This is going to be the most varied of the years to ensure that everyone is getting what they need, because this is also the year that everyone will have a much clearer idea of their commitment level and goals. We will be reviewing much of past years' work, going deeper into it as a way to become more competent and independent in skill. Monthly programs are offered in the form of weekly courses which allows for educators to focus themselves more specifically and go deeper into the work with more discourse. Monthly check ins will occur to coach teachers through their goals.

ELEMENTS INCLUDE
  • Weekly Group Classes Focusing In-Class, Personal & Practice Development
  • Weekly Sitting Practice
  • Access to Guided Practices
  • Monthly 1:1 Check Ins
  • Workbook
  • In-Class Modeling & Observing

For those who are serious in their commitment to building mindful schools should anticipate a 3-5 year investment - this allows educators and schools to move at a pace that matches their commitment and growth as well as receiving additional support which caters to specific needs both before and after the phases listed above.
