What's Included:

  • Arrival & Departure transportation in Kathmandu
  • 3 nights in Kathmandu with bed & breakfast
  • Standard guest house/lodges in mountain
  • All accommodation and meals during the trek
  • A half day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu valley including tour guide and monumental fees
  • Domestic flights and airport departure taxes
  • An experienced English-speaking trek leader (trekking guide) assistant guide also known as Sherpa, porters to carry luggage (2 trekkers: 1 porter)
  • Down jacket, sleeping bag, Himalayan Hikers Trekking duffel bag, and trekking map (down jacket, duffel and sleeping bag are to be returned after trip completion)
  • A comprehensive medical kit, with medical oxygen on high altitude trips and PAC BAG (Portable Altitude Chamber)
  • All necessary paper work and permits (National park permit, TIMS and insurance of the staff)
  • Yoga in Kathmandu
  • Tips for guides and porters

What's Not Included:

  • Airfare (typically costs between $1000 and $1400 if flying from the US)
  • Visa (this can be purchased when you land)
  • Travel & Evacuation Insurance
  • Lunch & Dinner in Kathmandu
  • Any optional tours and activities during free time
  • Excess baggage charges
  • Any expenses of personal nature  
  • Helicopter evacuation (this would be covered with Evacuation Insurance)
Overall Cost:  You can expect to spend between $6,000 & $6,500 for everything, from the trip to flight, insurance, meals (that aren't included already) and general spending money.

Cancellation Policy
IF YOU CANCEL THE RETREAT: 45 days or more prior to the start of the yoga retreat, you receive:  You will receive 100% credit of the cost of the full retreat not including the pre-paid, non-refundable security deposit 
31-44 days prior to the start of the retreat, you lose 50% of payment cost
30 days or less prior to the start of retreat, you lose 100% of total cost of retreat
To cancel, you must send an email stating that you wish to cancel to: [email protected]
IF WE CANCEL THE RETREAT:
We have never had to cancel a retreat, however, if we do cancel a trip due too few participants, we will refund to you all deposits and payments you have paid. We cannot however compensate you for airfare or travel costs incurred. In the unlikely event that Chelsea Simon must cancel a retreat due to weather, natural disaster or political upheaval, we cannot guarantee a refund – it will be depending on receiving a refund from the venue / tour operator we work with. To cover these risks, we highly recommend you purchase travel insurance.

    By registering for this tour you acknowledge Chelsea Simon acts only as agents for the various independent suppliers that provide accommodations, transportation, sightseeing, activities or other services connected with this retreat.  Such services are subject to the terms and conditions of those suppliers. 
    Chelsea Simon and their respective employees, agents, representatives, and assigns accept no liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or any other incident which may be caused by the negligence, defect, default of any company or person in performing these services. Responsibility is not accepted for  losses, injury, damages or expenses of any kind due to sickness, weather, strikes, hostilities, wars, terrorist acts, acts of nature, local laws or other such causes. All services and accommodations are subject to the laws and regulations of the country in which they are provided. Chelsea Simon is not responsible for any baggage or personal effects of any individual participating in the tours / trips arranged by Chelsea Simon.  Individual travelers are responsible for purchasing a travel insurance policy, if desired, that will cover some of the expenses associated with the loss of luggage or personal effects as well as their personal health insurance policy. Chelsea Simon is not responsible for providing your health insurance or healthcare while on the trip, are not responsible for any flight cancellations or changes to your personal travel itinerary not provided by the trip.  The itinerary and schedule are available on www.ChelseaLatham.com and the exact activities may change slightly based on weather while on the trip.  Occasionally weather can become an issue and we reserve the right to not participate in a certain activity if it is deemed unsafe due to weather but we will replace that activity with another of equal value.  

    Please note that there will be no refunds or discounts for arriving late, leaving early, flight cancellations, travel delays or illness. If you cancel your participation in a retreat for any reason, the cancellation policy below will apply, with no exceptions. We wish we could compensate people for unforseen circumstances (injury, family emergency, etc), but we have costs already incurred when reserving retreat centers and hotels. We have designed our cancellation policy to be as compassionate as possible in the case that your plans change. But to protect yourself further, we strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance.

    Himalayan Hikers Terms & Conditions
    Bookings
    A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking and the full amount is payable 30 days prior to trip departure . By paying your deposit you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
    Prices
    Prices are based on land costs, airfares and exchange rates applied when this document was written. We reserve the right to amend our prices without notice, at any time up to and including the day of departure of any trip, in the event of marked fluctuations in exchange rates, fuel prices or any other operating costs.
    Insurance
    We do not have any insurance policy covering the expenses for accident, sickness, loss due to theft, or any other reasons. Therefore, it is compulsory for all Himalayan Hikers Expedition travellers to purchase comprehensive travel insurance in your home country. Your travel insurance must cover emergency evacuation and repatriation. You must carry a copy of your insurance with you when you travel and produce a copy to Himalayan Hikers Expedition staff when requested. All baggage & personal property/s at all times are at the client's risk.
    Health and Fitness Requirements
    Our treks vary in the degree of difficulty and are designed for healthy people with a good level of fitness. You must disclose any preexisting medical conditions. It is your responsibility to ensure your vaccinations are up to date. Himalayan Hikers Expedition reserves the right to cancel your participation at any time, including after the commencement of the trip if your health is deemed to adversely affect the normal conduct of the trip and enjoyment of the other group members. All itineraries we give you are sample itineraries, intended to give you a general idea of the trip. Numerous factors such as weather, road conditions, the physical ability of the participants etc. may dictate itinerary changes either before the tour or while on the trail. We reserve the right to change any schedule in the interest of the trip participants' safety, comfort & general well being.
    Cancellation by you
    If you cancel your booking you must notify us immediately in writing. Upon receipt by us of your written advice, cancellation will take effect. Cancellation fees are as follows:
    More than 45 days or more before departure: Loss of deposit
    31 to 44  days before departure: 50% of total tour cost
    30 days or less before departure: 100% of total tour cost
    Cancellation by Himalayan Hikers Expedition
    Himalayan Hikers Expedition will not be liable for any cancellations of trips and you will not be entitled to make any further claim for compensation or damages for any loss, consequential damage, expenses, loss of time or inconvenience which may result from such cancellation. We shall not be responsible for any loss, injury or damage to person, property, or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation or other services, resulting - directly or indirectly - from any act of GOD, dangers, fire, accident, breakdown in machinery or equipment, breakdown of transport, declaration of war, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferages, epidemics, medical or custom department regulations, defaults, or any other causes that go beyond our control
    Conditions of Travel
    I understand and agree that trekking by its nature implies a standard of comfort, safety, conditions and health different to my home environment and that these conditions can vary from day to day. By participating in this program I accept the risks associated with travelling away from my home and my normal living places.
    Exclusion of Liability
    Himalayan Hikers Expedition acts as an agent for service providers when making arrangements for your trip. Himalayan Hikers Expedition is not responsible for the acts and omissions of these service providers including tour guides, accommodation providers and airlines for any loss, damage, or expense, including loss of money paid in advance which you may incur as a result of the acts, omissions and negligence of others. You confirm you hold comprehensive travel insurance and you understand that prices, itinerary, schedules and services can alter without notice for any reasons. You accept and assume all risks and are aware that all arrangements are made on condition that Himalayan Hikers Expedition and its associated companies, authorities, departures, staff and sub-contractors shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, death, delay or irregularity suffered.
