Too many people speak of intuition as if it is a coveted thing that is gifted to only a few people. Intuition is something to covet, because it ultimately is your inner compass guiding you through life, but it is not a "gift." Though some people may innately have higher intuition than others, intuition itself- just like love, power and abundance- is available to anyone and everyone. Intuition is clarity, it is knowing your own mind and seeing everything within you and around you so clearly that life is simply understood, you just know. Intuition isn't something that you try to create, every time you find yourself trying you are using your mind. Intuition comes from a place that is deeper than the mind, it comes from the Soul, that lovely source within you that is all-knowing, all-powerful. If you find yourself trying and thinking that means that you are not letting it be and simply knowing. You become more intuitive when life becomes still and quiet enough for you to hear the voice of your Soul. We live in a world that is always plugged in and running, there is a constant flow of movement and information. Information, ideas, news and more is forever being thrown at us all at once, we don't have to try very hard to find answers and learn more, it's all at our fingertips. This is a beautiful thing but in many ways it has numbed us, if it's all right there waiting to be accessed then why should we think on our own. Most people no longer know how to read maps and street signs because they have a GPS telling them where to go. This is highly metaphorical for how we are living our own personal lives. Gone is the need to check in, tune in, to what is going on within you, listen to your self, read the signs and know what you feel. We've become a world of analyzers and thinkers, which is ultimately the opposite of intuition. There is no need for intuition when everyone and everything is telling us what needs to happen and how it all should be. This isn't to say that you should run your life on intuition alone, it is a reminder to find balance in between. If you constantly make decisions that are logical and can be explained you will be just fine, but you may not always be making a choice that serves you best. The statistics and science experiments explain the population as a whole, forgetting about all the unique aspects of the magnificent you. So how do you rebuild intuition? Simple, detach and disconnect. When you find yourself in a quiet place with nothing to distract you, you become acutely aware of the little voice inside. If you have no one and nothing to seek the answers from, you are forced to find the answer for yourself based on your own inner judgment. Intuition develops over time and practice. In my Yoga training I was continuously promised by my Guru that my intuition would heighten through my daily yoga practice. I didn't quite understand that at the time but I quickly became aware of this truth. Through yoga you devote yourself to your breath, the only thing we are doing in the present moment. The more connected you become to your breath, the more connected you become to everything thought of the mind and every action/reaction of the body in that present moment. It is in the present moment that awareness of everything enhances, thus building intuition. If you continuously practice this on your mat, it naturally edges into the rest of your life as well, becoming more and more aware of your thoughts, actions, reactions and inner sensations that come from living in the present. People who live disconnected lives tend to be more intuitive as well. Again, in those quiet moments you connect with yourself and the clarity comes rushing in. It is for this reason that people often are inclined to exercise or spend time in nature when they need to clear their heads and find a certain answer for certain questions. Spending extended lengths of time disconnected and "far away" and do wonders for reconnecting to your inner self. The time I spent in Costa Rica, India and Nepal- far removed from technology and social media, pushed me closer and closer to my own intuition. There is significantly less stress in this space, you are naturally making decisions without fret, and these decisions serve you at your highest level. You can take all the amazing information that is given to you and combine it with the wisdom you hold within to make an educated decision that supports the magnificent you. Join me in Costa Rica or Nepal for time to reconnect with your intuition and nurture the Magnificent You

Chelsea M LathamWhen I was a kid my mom would occasionally refer to me as a Reverend, because I had the need to speak so passionately about just about everything. Little did she know that some day I would build a business upon sharing the wisdom that I am so passionate about. So here you go, here are some bits and bobs of thoughts strung together for your enjoyment. Archives
